Can I stop by and walk around?
Sorry, no! This is someone’s private residence. Please respect their privacy. Docent-led visits are only offered via this waitlist link (http://goo.gl/forms/3e2FPbWg9t).  We are in a residential neighborhood and ask everyone to minimize disturbance to the neighbors.
What is the tour like?
We give free guided tours to adults, usually a few  Wednesdays and Saturdays a month. At this time, we do not offer evening tours. A reservation is for two adults. Docent-led tours last approximately 2+ hours.  Due to the nature of the property and the guided tour, it is not possible to come for only part of that time. Our sculpture and botanic garden walking tour is about a 1.5-mile walk with stairs, hills, and some uneven terrain. It may be too strenuous for those with walking/standing difficulties, and there is no access to benches or seats along the way. We climb the equivalent of 7 floors. By reserving a tour you acknowledge you and your guest can safely navigate this terrain. We encourage you to wear sturdy walking shoes and a sunhat and bring water. We do still tour in light rain and hot days but will postpone if it is truly raining.
What if I make a reservation and can't make it?
Please notify the museum coordinator if this is to happen. We often have last-minute cancellations, which puts a strain on our operation. Please only sign up for a tour if you are confident you can make it. You will be kept on the waiting list until you have successfully completed a tour. Sorry, we are unable to answer individual emails as to when future tours will be scheduled.
Can we reserve a private event or party?
Sorry, at this time The Hermitage Santa Barbara is only offering small group, docent-led tours.
Can I write a blog post or publish my photographs?
Since this is still a private residence, we are not set up to accommodate crowds that are generated by social media. We appreciate your cooperation.
